As the only stepdown unit at Wilmington Hospital, we see a huge variety of very sick patients. Dr. Malhotra, as a renal physician, is on our floor quite often. He has a good rapport with all the nurses on the floor and is willing to answer questions about patients regardless if they are his or not, but he and Alyssa seem to work especially well together. Alyssa has recently had some patients that were very critical, yet benefitted greatly by her quick action and her close partnership/collaboration with Dr. Malhotra. She was able to communicate the needs of the patient promptly to him so he could order the correct treatment which prevented the patient from deteriorating further. Their collaboration has improved patient care and outcomes for our floor. I highly recommend this team for the Physician Partner Award."
