Robert W. Cox, M.D.

Dr. Cox, who earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in 1970 and completed his residency at Wilmington Medical Center and his fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University, is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology/Hypertension. Dr. Cox currently serves as the Section Chief of Nephrology at Christiana Care Health Systems and is the medical director for the FMC Christiana and University Plaza Dialysis Units. Dr. Cox is a member of the Delaware Medical Society, the New Castle County Medical Society, the American Heart Association, and the Delaware Academy of Medicine. He joined Nephrology Associates in 1978 and currently is serving as the President of Nephrology Associates. William J. Dahms, Jr., D.O., FASN

Dr. Dahms earned his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, PA in 2000. He completed his residency and Nephrology fellowship at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas where he was a Staff Nephrologist and the associate program director of the University of Texas Health Science Center's nephrology fellowship prior to joining Nephrology Associates. He also completed a tour of duty at the Balad Air Force Theater Hospital in Balad, Iraq from January to June 2007. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.

He has held the positions of Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology, at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and Instructor and Assistant Professor of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Bethesda, Maryland.

Dr. Dahms is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology (FASN), and is a member of the Renal Physicians Association, American College of Physicians, Society of Air Force Physicians, American Osteopathic Association, and National Kidney Foundation.

Dr. Dahms joined Nephrology Associates in July 2008 and is on the medical staff at the Christiana and Wilmington Division of Christiana Care Health System, St. Francis Hospital, and Union Hospital and sees patients in the Newark and St. Francis offices.

Dr. Faisal earned his medical degree from Calicut Medical College, University of Calicut, Kerala, India 1994. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, PA and his Nephrology Fellowship at the Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE. He trained in the United Kingdom and obtained the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of United Kingdom (M.R.C.P. (U.K.)) prior to coming to the United States. Dr. Faisal is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and is eligible for Board Certification in Nephrology. He is a member of the American Society of Nephrology and Renal Physicians Association. He is on the medical staff at the Christiana and Wilmington Division of Christiana Care Health System, St. Francis Hospital, and Union Hospital. Dr. Faisal joined Nephrology Associates in July 2011. He sees patients in our Newark and St. Francis offices.

Dr. Gavin, who is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology/Hypertension, currently serves as the medical director for the DaVita Elk River Dialysis Unit. Dr. Gavin is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Osteopathic Internists, the American Society of Nephrology, the Delaware Osteopathic Medical Society and the Medical Society of Delaware. He began practice in Delaware in 1987. Dr. Gilibert earned her medical degree at the Medical College of Pennsylvania-Hahnemann School of Medicine in 2000. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Christiana Care Hospital, CCHS, with fellowship training in Nephrology and subsequent specialization in Transplant Nephrology at Drexel University College of Medicine, Hahnemann University Hospital. Dr. Gilibert is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology and holds Transplant Nephrology certification by the American Society of Transplantation. She presented her research studies in kidney transplantation and intensive care hemodialysis at several scientific meetings and is a member of the American Society of Transplantation, American Society of Nephrology, National Kidney Foundation, American Medical Association, and the Medical Society of Delaware. Dr. Gilibert is the medical director of the kidney transplant program at Christiana Care Hospital and joined Nephrology Associates in 2006.

Dr. Israni earned his medical degree from Boston University in 1999. He completed his residency at Boston Medical Center, his Nephrology fellowship at Hospital of University of Pennsylvania and his Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed a Clinical Research Fellowship in Kidney Disease - Renal, Electrolyte and Hypertension Division of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and was on staff at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center before joining Nephrology Associates.

Dr. Israni has completed his Master of Science Degree in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Pennsylvania. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology/Hypertension. Dr. Israni is a Member of the American Society of Nephrology and the Renal Physicians Association. He is currently a Reviewer for Med Page Today publication. Dr. Israni is on the medical staff at the Christiana and Wilmington Division of Christiana Care Health System, St. Francis Hospital, and Union Hospital. Dr. Israni joined Nephrology Associates in August 2007.

Dr. Malhotra earned his medical degree at The Armed Forces Medical College. He completed his residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center and his nephrology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Malhotra is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology/Hypertension and is a Specialist in Clinical Hypertension. He specializes in management of kidney stones and complex hypertension. Currently serving as the Medical Director for the FMC Middletown Dialysis Unit, he is also on the Board of Directors of the Delaware Academy of Medicine and the Delaware Valley Chapter of the American Society of Hypertension. He is a member of the American Society of Nephrology, American Society of Hypertension, the National Kidney Foundation, and the American College of Physicians. He regularly speaks at conferences and lectures held by various professional groups. He joined Nephrology Associates in 2001. Dr. Saad earned his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1984. He also completed his residency and fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Saad is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology/Hypertension. Dr. Saad is a charter member and current President of the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology. He is also a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, American Society of Nephrology, the International Society of Nephrology, the Medical Society of Delaware, the National Kidney Foundation, and the Renal Physicians Association. He joined Nephrology Associates in 1999. As an interventional nephrologist, Dr. Saad's practice is focused on vascular access. This includes venous catheters for hemodialysis and other indications, and maintaining hemodialysis fistulae and grafts with radiographic imaging procedures, angioplasty, and stent placement. Dr Saad is on the medical staff at the Christiana and Wilmington Division of Christiana Care Health System; St. Francis Hospital, Select Specialty Hospital, and Union Hospital; sees office patients in our St. Francis and Newark offices and performs interventional procedures in our Vascular Access Center.

Dr. Slater earned her medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University in 1987. She also completed her residency and fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Slater is board certified in Nephrology/Hypertension. Dr. Slater currently serves as both the medical director for the FMC St. Francis Outpatient Dialysis Unit and as the medical director of the Dialysis Unit at Christiana Hospital. Dr. Slater was recently appointed to the Board of Medical Practice. Dr. Slater is Chairperson of the Chronic Renal Disease Advisory Committee.
